PICKING THE RIGHT PUPPY FOR THE OBAMAS’

Everyone is asking, what kind of puppy the President elect and his wife will pick for their darling, eager daughters. A shelter dog is definitely a possibility, but fraught with dangers, and a good rescue dog is hard to find. A mix breed leaves the door wide open for guesses and a pure-bred (recognized by the AKC) has so many varieties it makes the choice even harder. Rule out such dogs as the Boxer, the Dobe, the Rott, the Pitt Bull, and many other guardian breeds, (after all this is the official White House Pet and they will have plenty of guardians) the non-sporting and toy breeds look like a ton of fun, but each breed has its drawbacks, and its attractions. The Public and the Presidential Pet Museum will love and adore the first pet just as they do the first family, but lets hope they may a good choice and get an all around healthy, happy dog with a good history, good pedigree, good breeder and good luck. Now I’ve just laid out the major attractions on the Portuguese water dog, so if by any chance the children look at this website, they might ask their father to talk to Ted Kennedy about his dogs. Everyone at the Senate knows and loves them so this might just be the right time to make it another majority.

MAY WE SUGGEST...

THE PORTUGUESE WATER DOG

1. NON ALLERGENIC

2. DOESN’T SHED

3. INTELLIGENT

4. MODERATE SIZE

5. LOVES FAMILY, CHILDREN AND WATER

6. MODERATE MAINTANANCE

7. SPECTACULAR LOOKING

8. BEAUTIFUL COAT

9. COMES IN MANY COLORS

10. HAS AN INTERNATIONAL APPEAL

11. GIVES UNDYING LOYALTY AND LOVE

12. TED KENNEDY HAS TWO

it's not hard to find a good rescue dog. maybe in your opinion, but until you can back that up with scientific evidence, you shouldn't bad mouth rescue dogs. i've rescued dogs in the past, and i can tell you they are more loyal, loving, and grateful than any dog i've ever paid a breeder for.

as far as mixed breeds, they normally have less health problems and are easier to train. the statement that mixed breeds leave the door wide open is just ridiculous. people are now intentionally mixing certain breeds (hybrids) to create their 'perfect' dog. ever hear of a goldendoodle or peek-a-poo?

i realize this is all based on your opinion...i'm a blogger, myself, but discouraging people against rescue dogs is a bit far off course. and really, based on obama's ideas for america and helping out the little people, he should be more inclined to do the same for the canine population, as well!
